RIP Elvis Moreno aka TapeMaster

An Unsung Legend of The Hip Hop Culture has passed away. Elvis Moreno akaTapeMaster‘ (center) was a member of The Cold Crush Brothers. A classmate of @coldcrushezad he was encouraged by @djtonycrush to come on board with the group and record the shows. I have to say that 75% of the recordings we all listen to today TapeMaster recorded them from ColdCrush Trecherous3 Furious 5 Fearlous 4 and so on TapeMaster is responsible for documenting the humble beginnings of Hip Hop Music! Always spoken about but never given his Flowers his legacy will live on and we all owe him a debt of gratitude! Only 60 years old he passed away comfortably in Puerto Rico. RIP TapeMaster and Thank you! #HipHop #TapeMater #Legend #ColdCrushBrothers

‘Hip-Hop: Conscious, Unconscious’ Opening

‘Hip-Hop: Conscious, Unconscious’,
Opening January 26, 2023

@fotografiska.newyork together with @massappeal and @hiphop50 have collaborated to create the definitive destination for celebrating hip-hop’s global impact on visual expression – a traveling exhibition and immersive experience bringing together a roster of artists who have documented this cultural phenomenon.
On view through May 2023, ‘Hip-Hop: Conscious, Unconscious’ features over 200 photographs, and traces the rise and proliferation of hip-hop through five decades of work from trailblazing image-makers who helped codify hip-hop as the most influential pop culture movement of its generation.
Taking over two museum floors, the exhibition is presented in collaboration with Chase Marriott Bonvoy credit cards and adds to Mass Appeal’s Hip Hop 50 cross-platform initiative – a manifestation of the company’s commitment to celebrating the culture in the most authentic and globally impactful way possible.
